Lalique, inside the maison that turns crystal into myth

In Wingen sur Moder, in northern Alsace, that image changes quickly. Here, Lalique is not a maison frozen inside its own legend. It is a working place. A village, a manufacture, a museum, a villa, a restaurant, a cellar. Everything sits within a surprisingly small radius. Yet the experience feels as though one has entered a much larger story. One comes for Villa René Lalique. One leaves with the sense that the hotel is only one chapter. Perhaps the most desirable one, but not the first.
